Being a Street Representative

Preston City Council Neighbourhood Management Partnerships are looking for people who are prepared to help monitor and maintain levels of cleanliness and safety on our streets, back alleys, green space, shopping areas and other public places.

If you care about where you live and are sick of the state of your area then you can join other like-mended people who want to make our neighbourhoods cleaner and safer for everyone.

Being a Street Rep is not time consuming but it will make a difference to how our services respond to how our services respond to local issues.

What do Street Representatives do?

Select an area or areas for monitoring within Preston
Report issues and incidents to the appropriate servicee
Complete monitoring forms and keep records
Submit monitoring forms and keep records
Submit monitoring forms to Neighbourhood Management Offices
Attend meeting and events with other street reps
Attend training and support sessions
Raise awareness of services and support neighbours
Make friends and socialise!

Being a Street Representative

To be a Street Rep you need to be a resident of Preston, be concerned about improving where you live and be willing to speak up on behalf of others.

You need to lead by example by being a good citizen and helpful neighbour, raise awareness of service provision locally and set realistic expectations about service responses.

You also need to be mindful of personal safety, treat everybody with coutesy and respect and be will to get involved in community activities that interest you and your family.
