Good morning all,
Last night was the last of the training session for the above subject matter, firstly we take the opportunity of thanking Bill Mc Whittle for a very professional presentation.
The training event followed after a active advertising poster / leaflet drop, and was attend by circa 24 people which included but not limited too the old guard of the original steering group, June Dodd, Liz Soole, Janet and Bruce Baileston, Alan Brookes, Bill Mc Grath,Tom Anderson, Derek Beven, Anton Mooney* David Strageway and Jim Clancy*,where unable to attend but are still active.
The meeting was also attend by LCC Councillor Bill Winlow who has been on board from inception, and although not at the meeting Bill Shannon has also been *on board * and without doubt the cohesion within this group has carried it forward to this final stage.
The presentation was done in stages and identified conduct, the role of councillors and the future elected Chair Person, the frequency of meetings, and agenda format, legal caveats and all aspects known on present N C statute requirements nation wide.
This was followed by questions and answer slots after each of the aforementioned stages was presented. The question were all relevant too the task of betterment within the community, and also these question from the audience identified a positive interest in N C for Ingol and Tanterton well done all.
There where other residents at these meeting and firstly say pleased too see them, our attending residents some who are already community active are now up too speed on the work entailed, and all understand this is a volunteer group and no remuneration shall be forth coming for councilor services.
We would also like to offer our thanks to both Signposts and Intact for their generous offer of premises use, the future is in NC and that can only be sustained by continuing and adding too our existing community partners. It is imperative that the community benefits from the inclusion of NC and therefore support NC by being a valued community member.
