OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU TO HELP

POLICE SPECIAL CONSTABLES - Special Constables have full police powers and perform the same duties as regular officers: they have the same uniform and same equipment. Duties range from general patrols to policing of football matches and road traffic incidents. A minimum commitment of 4 hours per week is required. If you are between 18 and 50 and think you have the qualities to undertake this very important role contact Jenny Cole (412128) or Laura Hesketh (412127) for more information.

POLICE VOLUNTEERS - Volunteers are recruited from all sections of the community and their efforts enhance police services to the community by freeing up police time and, just as importantly, by their presence, increase public confidence in the police. After appropriate training, volunteers are engaged in many different aspects of police duties, including administration, telephoning victims of crime and complainants to update them on the progress of investigations, and assisting police officers on their areas.

If you have three or four hours a week to spare, and would like to serve your local community in this way, please contact, Kath Harris Volunteer Co-ordinator on 209786 for an informal chat.
