AWARENESS
Yesterday i was walking up Fulshaw street (adjacent Parkfield club) and the elderly man at the corner if he sees me always wants too talk. this is general about his veg garden but not yesterday.
He was telling me that a mixed race male circa six foot tall well built came in his back door un invited, asking for money with the story line of he comes from Blackburn and his friends ? had left him here, and he need £10 to get back there.
The resident managed to talk him out of the door, but didn't report the incident. We then told him he should have, and would report it for him if he wants. he accepted this offer and we have therefore advised Helen and a reassurance call shall be made today.
Helen shall sort this out for sure, and advise on better security to the elderly resident * although elderly he is still clear on what took place and could advise day / time of the incident.
The concern is that this maybe not an isolated incident, and draws me back too earlier Pact meetings when we advised on elderly / disabled or illness with neighbours and the need to be observant if you like a morale imperative.
Shall mention this at the Pact meeting but shall not cc anyone till information from Helen is received, see you Wednesday.

120 youths enjoy footbal competition

David Aspden (ICA FA Coach) arranged a 5 a side football competition on Saturday at Vida and it was played over 4 outdoor pitches, each team had around 6/8 players which allowed the teams to rotate their players. To ensure we got as many player on the field David organised it that each team played at least 7 matches. 119 players actually played. The ICA provided the trophies and medals. Teams came from Brookfield, Ribbleton, Ingol, Ashton and Fishwick.
All went without a hitch, no problems whatsoever, it would appear the teams went away happy and asking when could they have another one. We will be arranging one in a couple of months and will be doing it on a reasonable regular basis.
