The ICA proposal for site in the ICA bid for finance from Neighbourhood Management
As you will see from the photos a successful outcome in bringing a great improvement to our neighbourhood, the grant was for £14,500.

Dalmore Road grassed area is centrally located and the majority of the community have to pass this area. This will show everybody what a difference we can make to the estate.

The area is a triangular piece of land which at present is only grassed. Only on a few sunny summer days can it be used as most of the time the condition is at present substandard.

We propose the total regeneration of this area by treating the existing grass with glyphosate weed killer and when effective rotovate adding 40 tons of topsoil to and rake to ensure a level flat area. Prepare the new surface and sow a suitable quality grass seed

Surround Fencing

By the erection of a low ornate bow top fence 1mtr high, which will be powder coated green or similar colour to surround the area which now becomes a communal meeting place. The access will be by a single gate, with a further double gate to allow access for maintenance vehicles. We feel the fence is necessary as we expect many toddlers and young to use the area and this will help them keep safe.

Tree Planting

Further to this we want to plant at least 6 mature trees without blocking out light to surrounding houses. This will be achieved by placing them where they will be an asset to the area. The trees will be protected by metal tree guards. In addition some under planting will further enhance the scheme.

Rock Vehicle Deterrent

In another corner we envisage a rockery area consisting of large sandstone boulders, to provide interest and colour assorted groundcover plants. This will be positioned on the corner of Barry Avenue and Dalmore Road which will protect the fence and people from motor vehicle that might stray on the kerb by cutting the corner. The rocks will be of a suitable substatin nature to withstand most vehicles and also that they cannot be removed.

Access

We have a policy of social inclusion so as this area is flat with double gate access. We are confident that people of all ages, disabilities, young mothers with push chairs will take advantage of the facility.
